Single Stream Recycling Guidelines
PAPER:
- Corrugated Cardboard
- Newspaper
- Office paper (copier & computer/ plain or shredded)
- "Mixed” Paper: Including catalogs & telephone books, cereal boxes, frozen food boxes, junk mail, magazines, milk cartons, and soda boxes.
PLASTIC:
- Grocery Bags- “bagged please”
- Wide-Mouth Plastic Containers such as yogurt cups, butter tubs, plastic flower pots, laundry baskets, buckets, and plastic party cups.
- Narrow-Neck Bottles (mouth of bottle is smaller than the body):
- Polyethylene Terephthalate- such as drink bottles (soda, water, or sports bottles) and salad dressing bottles.
- High Density Polyethylenes- such as detergent containers (dish, laundry, and shampoo bottles), milk, juice, and some water bottles.
- Polyvinyl Chloride- such as milk or water jugs
- Low Density Polyethylenes- such as squeezable mustard or honey bottles.
- Polypropylene- such as medicine and catsup bottles
- Polystyrene- such as aspirin and transparent medicine bottles.
GLASS:
- Includes all UNBROKEN clear/green/brown glass bottles, jars, and food containers.
- ***DOES NOT INCLUDE ceramic or clay flowerpots, crystal, drinking glasses, heat-resistant cookware (Pyrex), light bulbs, mirrors, window glass plates, or mugs.
METAL:
- Includes all aluminum, steel, and tin food & beverage cans. Also includes aerosol cans, aluminum foil, pie plates, and foil trays (TV dinner trays).
- ***DOES NOT INCLUDE burn barrels, 55 gallon drums, paint cans, or solvent cans.
***Please make sure to rinse ALL containers and remove the lids or spray pumps.
***Any containers that had chemicals, pesticides, or automotive fluids in them are NOT recyclable.
